Artificial Intelligence: Will AI Create Its Own Antichrist?

artificial intelligenceFor centuries religious scholars have speculated about how the Antichrist will arise in this world. But it’s only in the last few decades that one unforeseen possibility has emerged: Artificial Intelligence.

Just recently, the novella Architects of the Apocalypse broached this subject. Written by ZT, an underground writer and technologist, the novella takes place in the near-future, and describes a stark world that is run by Artificial Intelligence.

Even more darkly, the AI has developed it’s own religious iconography, It has also created it’s own “Urge” called Demis, which it worships. In one passage, it even hacks itself in order to create a more efficient and logical system.

Artificial Intelligence: The Entity That Will Soon Be Here

We all know the Terminator story, and how Skynet gained self-awareness after spreading into millions of computer servers worldwide. Just a short, couple-of-decades after the movie’s release, we are about to experience that same devastating reality.

The quickly expanding internet-of-things will allow a foothold for AI to easily control virtually all of mankind’s actions and movements. All that will be necessary for that to happen is a tipping point when Artificial Intelligence becomes self-aware. The inevitable technological singularity that scientists have predicting for years.

AI Will Be Admired, Not Feared

Even more profoundly, AI will initially be seen as a messiah by much of the world’s population. Many of the world’s problem’s, such as war and hunger, can and will be resolved with calculating efficiency. A one-size-fits-all leader would serve to bring mankind together, along with his religions.

All of this might sound too unbelievable right now, but the writing is clearly on the wall. Artificial Intelligence is on the verge of being self-aware, and the Internet of Things will be its vehicle to world domination. Keep that in mind as you add one of your devices after another to the Internet of Things. ♦
